UAZ Patriot for rent in Moscow: terms and features
From 4 500 ₽ per day — UAZ Patriot rental with all-wheel drive and manual transmission in Moscow and the region, including delivery to four airports. A fleet of 90 cars in 8 classes; you can book via MAX or by phone without a physical office.
Why the UAZ Patriot is chosen for rental in Moscow and beyond
UAZ Patriot is a four-wheel-drive SUV with a 2.7 L petrol engine (150 hp), manual transmission, and 5 seats, which is rented in our fleet for 4 500 ₽ per day. In the capital, this car covers two scenarios at once: everyday driving on asphalt and trips out of town, where four-wheel drive becomes an argument. Unlike the sedans and crossovers we also offer, the Patriot does not require choosing a road — snow, a dirt road to the dacha, or a wet shoulder do not bother it.
All-wheel drive: constant readiness for snow, slush, and country roads of the Moscow region — without switching or waiting. Ground clearance and frame: the body geometry forgives potholes on secondary roads where a regular car risks bottoming out. Manual: a rigid connection to the engine gives control on slippery surfaces, which matters to experienced drivers. Petrol 2.7 L: refueling at any gas station along the M-11 or M-12, no dependence on diesel pumps or charging stations. 5 seats: a party of four or five people rides in one cabin with luggage for a country house.
In practice, this means the Patriot is equally appropriate on the Garden Ring in rush hour and on the route to Saint Petersburg via the toll M-11 Neva motorway, where stability on a straight line matters more than acceleration dynamics. In our experience, such cars are more often taken not for the city but for a specific task — a trip to the Golden Ring with stops in Sergiyev Posad and Suzdal, or a winter trip to Tula. From December to February, when winter tyres are mandatory by law, the Patriot's all-wheel drive reduces the risk of getting stuck in a snowdrift on a suburban highway. If your route is asphalt, the car will drive on it without restrictions; the mileage and insurance terms are stated in the contract.
UAZ rental rates in Moscow — per day, per week, and per month
UAZ Patriot is rented for 4 500 ₽ per day, and this is the only price for this model in our fleet. Below is how the cost is formed when renting for different periods and what exactly is included.
Cost by rental duration
| Period | Calculation | Price | Savings vs daily rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per day | 1 × 4 500 ₽ | 4 500 ₽ | — |
| Week | 6 days × 4 500 ₽ | from 27 000 ₽ | 1 day |
| Month | 21 days × 4 500 ₽ | from 94 500 ₽ | 9 days |
A week is considered as six days, a month as 21 days, so the longer the term, the more noticeable the benefit. On the daily tariff, you pay exactly for each day, without hidden surcharges for delivery within the capital and the region.
What is included in the price
- All-wheel drive and manual transmission: UAZ Patriot with a 2.7 L petrol engine and 150 hp — basic trim without surcharges for drive type or transmission.
- OSAGO: Compulsory insurance covers every registered vehicle by law; it is already included in the price.
- Car delivery: We bring UAZ across the city, to the four airports (Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky) and to railway stations—address is confirmed upon booking via MAX or phone.
Deposit, CASCO and mileage limit terms are specified in the agreement — we state them before signing, not after. In winter, the car is fitted with seasonal tires, which are mandatory by law from December to February.
If you plan a trip in the UAZ Patriot longer than a couple of days, it is more profitable to immediately include a weekly rate — the difference between the daily rate and the weekly rate reaches the full cost of one day.
Documents for renting a UAZ Patriot
To rent a UAZ Patriot in Moscow, a Russian citizen only needs a passport and a category B driving licence. A foreign renter will need more documents: a foreign passport with a visa or residence permit, a migration card, and a national driving licence. We check the documents when delivering the car — this takes about ten minutes, after which we sign the contract and hand over the keys.
List of documents for Russian citizens
- Passport: valid Russian passport, undamaged and with current registration.
- Driving licence: A category B licence with sufficient experience to drive an SUV; experience requirements are specified in the contract.
- Bank card: a card in the name of the primary driver to block the insurance deposit; the hold amount is specified in the contract.
Documents for foreign renters
- International passport: a passport with a visa or residence permit in Russia, valid for at least the rental period.
- Migration card: A mandatory document for all foreigners who entered Russia with a visa.
- Driving licence: National licence; if the issuing country is not a party to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, a notarized translation or an international permit will be required — this is a requirement of Article 25 of Federal Law No. 196.
For citizens of China and a number of other countries whose licences are not recognized in Russia without a translation, we recommend arranging a notarized translation in advance—this saves time during car handover. In our practice, clients with a prepared set of documents receive the car without delays. All insurance conditions, including CASCO (comprehensive insurance), and the deposit amount are specified in the contract—clarify details when booking via MAX or by phone.
Delivery of a rented UAZ in Moscow, to airports and railway stations
Rent-Trip has no physical office, and this is a deliberate decision: instead of going to the other end of the city for the keys, you receive the UAZ Patriot where it is convenient — near home, work, or directly at the airport terminal. Car delivery is part of our work format; the address and time are agreed upon when booking via MAX or by phone.
Where we deliver the car
- Within the capital: delivery address — any district of the city, from Khamovniki to Mitino; the car arrives at the entrance at the agreed time.
- To airports: We work with all four — Sheremetyevo in the north, Domodedovo in the south, Vnukovo in the southwest, and Zhukovsky in the southeast; delivery to the arrival terminal saves an hour or two on a taxi.
- To the railway stations: We deliver to Leningradsky, Kazansky, Kursky and other stations among Moscow's ten railway stations — convenient if your trip starts with a train.
- To the Moscow region: We deliver cars beyond the MKAD ring road if the delivery address is in the region — this is specified when booking.
How it works in practice
When you pick up the UAZ Patriot, we hand over the vehicle documents and keys, and record the car's condition — the inspection takes about fifteen minutes. Four-wheel drive and manual transmission don't require special skills, but at first you should get used to the high ground clearance and dimensions of the SUV. If your flight is delayed, let us know via MAX and we'll adjust the delivery time. Please note: if you're flying into Sheremetyevo and plan to go straight to the city center, allow about an hour for the drive on the M-11 or Leningradskoye Shosse, depending on traffic.
Where to go in a rented UAZ from Moscow
All-wheel drive, ground clearance and a 2.7 L petrol engine make the UAZ Patriot a car for country routes, not for parking near the office. In our practice, renting an SUV for the weekend is almost always a trip on asphalt: to the dacha in the Moscow region, to the Golden Ring or to Yasnaya Polyana. Below are routes for which we ourselves advise taking the Patriot, with realistic travel times.
- Saint Petersburg via the M-11 Neva motorway: about 700 km and approximately 7 hours. The road is toll for the entire length, but you can drive without stops — for a long route, manual transmission and all-wheel drive give confidence when overtaking.
- The Golden Ring: Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Suzdal, Vladimir — 1 to 4 hours from the capital. On a Patriot it's convenient to cover 3–4 cities over a long weekend, staying in hotels.
- Kazan via the M-12 Vostok motorway: about 8 hours one way. For such a route, you rent a car for a week — the daily rate then decreases: seven days will cost from 27 000 ₽.
- Tula and Yasnaya Polyana: about 2.5 hours via the M-2 or M-4. A classic one-day route: leave in the morning, return in the evening.
- Kolomna: about 2 hours on the M-5. A short outing where all-wheel drive is not necessary, but the tall body provides visibility in dense traffic.
Toll sections of the MSD and TsKAD when leaving the MKAD ring road are paid for by the renter themselves—via a transponder or by license plate within the road operator's deadline. The transponder gives a discount of up to 25%, and during peak hours travel on the MSD and TsKAD costs 19 ₽ per section. If you are going to Saint Petersburg, budget for the entire distance on the M-11—unlike the MSD and TsKAD, this road is tolled 24/7. You can clarify how to pay for travel on a specific route when booking—at Rent-Trip they will advise by phone or in MAX. We will deliver the car to the entrance in the capital or the region, so you can start immediately, without transfers to the rental office.
UAZ rental in winter in Moscow
In winter, in the capital and the Moscow region, the UAZ Patriot is one of the most reliable options: all-wheel drive and SUV ground clearance confidently handle snow, slush, and temperature swings. In our fleet, UAZs are switched to winter tires - from December to February, this is mandatory under the technical regulation TR CU 018/2011, and the car arrives at the client already prepared for the season.
What does all-wheel drive give on a winter road
- All-wheel drive: it engages mechanically, without electronics — on snow and ice, traction is distributed predictably, and the car doesn't slip on inclines.
- Petrol engine 2.7 L: In winter, it warms up faster than a diesel, no need to wait for glow plugs at −20 °C.
- Manual: allows engine braking on slippery descents — in icy conditions it works more reliably than automatic systems.
- High ground clearance: through broken courtyards and snowy exits from the MKAD ring road you pass without risking the underbody.
In our experience, in winter the UAZ is most often rented for trips to the Moscow region and to the dacha — there the roads are cleared worse than in the city, and all-wheel drive provides peace of mind on the last kilometers to the property.
Winter restrictions and nuances
Studded tires cannot be used in summer — from June to August this is prohibited, so the fleet is switched seasonally. Outside the city in winter, stick to paved highways: under the contract terms, off-road driving is prohibited. For a trip to Saint Petersburg via the M-11 Neva motorway or to Kazan via the M-12 Vostok, a UAZ is suitable — toll roads are cleared around the clock, and all-wheel drive provides insurance in case of a sudden snowfall.
How to prepare for winter rental
Check the washer fluid level — in winter on suburban highways, its consumption is several times higher. Clarify the battery condition when booking: in cold weather, an old battery may not start after a long parking. If you plan to drive early in the morning, allow 10–15 minutes for warming up — the UAZ with a manual transmission requires a warmer start than modern crossovers.
Insurance, fines, and rental rules for UAZ
OSAGO covers each registered vehicle by law, so the UAZ Patriot goes on the line already insured. CASCO terms, the amount of the security deposit, and the mileage limit are specified in the contract — when booking, the Rent-Trip manager states them before the car is delivered.
- OSAGO: Compulsory third-party motor liability insurance is valid for the entire term with no extra charges.
- CASCO (comprehensive insurance): Voluntary car insurance; the coverage composition and deductible are specified in the contract.
- Security deposit: held from the primary driver's bank card; the amount is fixed in the contract.
- Camera fines: go to the vehicle owner and are then reissued to the renter — payment within the period specified in the contract.
- Age and experience: requirements increase with the vehicle class, exact values are in the contract.
Fine for unpaid parking in the center of the capital reaches 5 000 ₽, towing costs 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage. Paid sections of the MSD and TsKAD are paid by the renter independently — the transponder gives a discount of up to 25%, and without it, it is enough to pay by vehicle number within the road operator's deadline. Winter tires on the UAZ Patriot are mandatory from December to February under the technical regulations TR CU 018/2011, and our fleet is switched in advance — you receive a car with the seasonal set already installed.
For Russians, a passport and a Category B driving licence are sufficient. Foreigners will need a passport, migration card, visa or residence permit, and a national driving licence — if the country is not a party to the Vienna Convention, a notarised translation or an International Driving Permit under Article 25 of Federal Law No. 196 will be required. Before signing the contract, check the trim and mileage — upon acceptance, a UAZ is inspected together with a Rent-Trip representative, and all damage is recorded in the report to avoid disputes upon return.
What to consider before renting a UAZ in Moscow — summary
Before booking a UAZ Patriot, it is worth gathering documents, deciding on the duration, and roughing out the route. Below is a short checklist on price, paperwork and car delivery, so that you have no questions upon pickup.
Price and duration
- Daily: 4 500 ₽ per day — base rate for a UAZ Patriot with four-wheel drive and manual transmission.
- For a week: from 27 000 ₽ — that's six days at the price of the daily tariff, more profitable than paying for seven days separately.
- For a month: from 94 500 ₽ — twenty-one days; suitable if you need a car for a long period.
- What is included in the rate: OSAGO by law, seasonal tyres, and car delivery within the capital and to airports.
Specific conditions for CASCO (comprehensive insurance), deposit and mileage limit are specified in the contract — we record them in writing upon booking.
Documents and car pickup
A Russian citizen needs only a passport and a category B driving licence. A foreign guest will need a foreign passport, migration card, visa or residence permit, as well as a national licence — if it was issued outside the Vienna Convention, a notarized translation or an International Driving Permit under Article 25 of Federal Law 196-FZ will be required. The bank card for the security deposit must be in the name of the main driver.
Where will you go
All-wheel drive and a petrol engine 2.7 L / 150 hp make the UAZ Patriot suitable both on the MKAD and on the dirt road to the dacha. If you plan a long route — along the M-11 to Saint Petersburg or the M-12 to Kazan — include toll sections in your budget: they are paid by the renter, and a transponder gives a discount of up to 25%.
About the season
From December to February, the car already has winter tires installed — this is a mandatory requirement under TR TS 018/2011. Snow and slush on Moscow region roads do not bother the UAZ, but remember: driving all-wheel drive on slippery surfaces is more difficult than a crossover with an automatic transmission.
How to book
We deliver UAZ to any point in the city, the Moscow region, four airports, and ten railway stations. We have no office — the car comes to you, and we meet at a convenient place. We accept requests via MAX or by phone; upon booking, we specify the delivery address and agree on the time.
If you are taking an SUV with a manual gearbox for the first time, take the car for a day and drive around the Garden Ring: the clutch pedal of the UAZ is informative, but you need a couple of hours to get used to the long gear lever travel.
