All five cars are petrol, with automatic transmission, which simplifies refuelling and driving for the renter. In winter months, the fleet is switched to seasonal tyres by law, and this does not change the price. The final cost includes OSAGO (compulsory third-party insurance) — mandatory insurance under the law; other terms are specified in the rental contract and clarified when booking.

How we deliver a car

Rent-Trip delivers the selected BMW around Moscow, to the region, and to four airports — Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky. What documents are needed to rent a BMW in Moscow

To rent a BMW in the capital, you will need a standard set of documents, and the requirements for age and driving experience depend on the car class. At Rent-Trip, we check documents when handing over the car — the client does not need to go anywhere, because we do not have a physical office.

Documents for citizens of Russia

• Passport: A Russian Federation civil passport valid at the time of rental.
• Driving licence: A category B licence — sufficient for all five BMW models in our fleet.
• Bank card: a card in the name of the primary driver is required to block the insurance deposit; the exact amount is specified in the contract.

Documents for foreign renters

• Passport and migration card: Mandatory for citizens of other countries; a visa or residence permit will also be required.
• Driving licence: a national driving licence from your country of residence is fine. If your country is not a party to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic — e.g., China — the licence is valid only with a notarized translation into Russian or with an International Driving Permit (Article 25 of Federal Law No. 196-FZ).

Each car in our fleet is insured under OSAGO (compulsory third-party insurance) — this is mandatory civil liability insurance required by law, valid for all cars registered in Russia. The terms of CASCO (comprehensive insurance), including the list of insured events and the deductible amount, are specified in the rental agreement — when handing over a BMW, we state all items and answer questions. Fines from cameras and toll roads

Traffic camera fines go to the car owner, i.e., the rental company, and are re-invoiced to the renter. This applies to speeding, driving in a dedicated lane, and other violations recorded by cameras in the capital and region. Paid sections — MSD, TsKAD, M-11, and M-12 — are paid by the renter: via transponder or by car number within the deadline set by the road operator. The fine for non-payment of parking is 5 000 ₽, and towing a car will cost 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage at the impound lot. For business meetings in the Presnensky District or near Patriarch's Ponds, budget for parking in advance — finding a free spot on weekdays during the day is almost impossible.

What is needed for pickup

To hand over the car at the terminal, you will need a passport and a driving licence of category B—for Russian citizens. Where to go in a rented BMW from Moscow

Asphalt routes around the capital cover any weekend plans — from a dacha in the Moscow region to two days in Kazan. All directions are on federal highways, without dirt roads or 'last mile': the rental agreement prohibits off-road driving of BMW, as stated in the contract.

• Saint Petersburg via the M-11 Neva motorway: about 700 km, approximately 7 hours on the way; the road is toll for the entire length, payment by transponder or by car plate within the road operator's deadline.
• The Golden Ring: Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Suzdal, Vladimir — from one to four hours of driving from Moscow, convenient to split over two to three days.

On the M-11 and M-12, a transponder gives a discount of up to 25%, and toll rates this season have increased by 8–10% — factor this into your trip calculation.

Toll sections within Moscow and the region

The MSD and the TsKAD ring are toll roads, and payment for them is the renter's responsibility, as are camera fines that come to the owner and are re-invoiced to you. The MSD has nine sections, each costing 19 ₽ during peak hours (weekdays 7:00 to 11:00 and 16:00 to 20:00), off-peak and on weekends free; transit without exiting — 950 ₽. The TsKAD ring: 19 ₽ per section at peak times, the full circle — 171 ₽, off-peak free. If you are going to Sheremetyevo (SVO) via the M-11, note that the motorway is tolled along its entire length.

What to check before a long trip

Terms of preparing the car for a long trip — tire condition, fuel level and inspection procedure — are specified in the rental agreement. For a long trip, choose an all-wheel-drive model: the X5, X7, 5 or 7 Series hold the road more confidently on wet asphalt than the rear-wheel-drive 3 Series. Requirements for the driver's documents and the procedure for allowing a second person to drive are agreed upon when booking. Parking in the city center on weekdays costs 380–800 ₽/hour from 8:00 to 21:00 — this is not an issue on long routes, but within the city plan ahead.

All-wheel drive on the X5, X7, 5 and 7 Series gives a tangible advantage when starting at intersections of the Garden Ring after snowfall and on uncleared streets like Yakimanka. The rear-wheel-drive 3 Series is a classic of handling, but on icy asphalt it is harder to get going, so the choice of model for daily trips around the capital in winter is agreed upon when booking.

If you're planning a country trip, check the forecast: on the TsKAD ring and M-11, roads are treated with de-icing agents, but on regional roads of the Golden Ring, snow packing is possible.
