Car rental in Moscow from 2 300 ₽ per day
Self-drive car rental in Moscow — this is 90 cars in 8 classes from economy to premium, which we deliver to your home, office, any of the four airports or railway stations. Prices start from 2 300 ₽ per day for Lada Granta, and when renting for a week or a month the daily rate decreases. We have no physical office — a courier delivers the car, and all issues are resolved in MAX or by phone.
How much does car rental cost in Moscow
The rental price starts from 2 300 ₽ per day for a Lada Granta and goes up to 25 000 ₽ for a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The Rent-Trip fleet has 90 cars in 8 classes, and the price depends on the class, model, and duration — the longer you rent, the lower the daily rate.
Prices by class
| Class | Models | Price per day | Price per week |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy | Lada Granta, Lada Vesta, Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio | 2 300–2 700 ₽ | from 13 800 ₽ |
| Comfort | Geely Emgrand, Škoda Octavia, Kia K5 | 3 300–4 500 ₽ | from 19 800 ₽ |
| Crossovers | Haval Jolion, Geely Coolray, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max | 4 200–4 900 ₽ | from 25 200 ₽ |
| Business | Toyota Camry, Mercedes-Benz E-Class | 6 500–11 000 ₽ | from 39 000 ₽ |
| Premium | BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz S-Class | 18 000–25 000 ₽ | from 108 000 ₽ |
| SUVs | Tank 300, Toyota Land Cruiser 300 | 7 500–19 000 ₽ | from 45 000 ₽ |
| Minivans | Hyundai Staria, Kia Carnival | 9 500–10 500 ₽ | from 57 000 ₽ |
| Commercial | GAZ GAZelle Next, Lada Largus van | 3 000–4 800 ₽ | from 18 000 ₽ |
Why a week = 6 days and a month = 21
A week at Rent-Trip counts as 6 days, a month as 21. That is, a week of Lada Granta will cost from 13 800 ₽ instead of 16 100 ₽ at the daily rate, and a month from 48 300 ₽ instead of 69 000 ₽. The math is simple: the daily rate is multiplied by 6 or 21, with no hidden coefficients or "holiday" surcharges. This calculation makes long-term rental predictable — you know the final amount to the penny before booking.
Rental or taxi — which is more profitable
With several trips per day, car rental is often more profitable than taxi: several trips around the city during rush hours add up to an amount comparable to a day of renting a Kia Rio or Hyundai Solaris. If you need to visit three points in the city, deliver things, or meet guests, one car replaces 5–7 taxi rides. Compare the total cost: taxi counts each trip taking into account traffic jams and surge pricing, while rental is a fixed price per day that does not increase even if you get stuck in traffic on the Third Ring Road. For long trips to the region or neighboring regions, taxi loses even more: the driver often refuses to go beyond the MKAD ring road or asks for payment for the return trip.
What cars can be rented
The Rent-Trip fleet — 90 cars in 8 classes: from economy sedans to premium SUVs and minivans. Price range — from 2 300 ₽ for a Lada Granta to 25 000 ₽ for a Mercedes-Benz S-Class per day. Below is a breakdown by class with exact models and prices, so you can immediately see what fits your budget.
Econom and Comfort — city sedans
- Econom: Lada Granta at 2 300 ₽ and Lada Vesta at 2 600 ₽ per day — basic sedans with manual and automatic transmission, respectively.
- Foreign economy cars: Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio for 2 700 ₽ each, Renault Logan, Changan Alsvin and Renault Sandero for 2 500 ₽ each — reliable automatics for daily trips.
- Comfort: Geely Emgrand for 3 300 ₽, Škoda Octavia for 3 800 ₽, Kia K5 for 4 500 ₽ — more spacious than economy, suitable for long trips on the highway.
For the city, a sedan with an automatic transmission is enough — parking and manoeuvring in heavy traffic are easier, and fuel consumption is lower than that of a crossover.
Crossovers and SUVs
Crossovers — from Haval Jolion for 4 200 ₽ to Geely Coolray for 4 300 ₽ and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max with all-wheel drive for 4 900 ₽ per day. If you need a taller and more spacious car — Moskvich 3 for 3 900 ₽ or Hyundai Creta for 4 200 ₽. Among SUVs — Lada Niva Travel for 3 500 ₽, Tank 300 for 7 500 ₽, and Toyota Land Cruiser 300 for 19 000 ₽ per day. All-wheel drive is useful in winter and on dirt roads in the Moscow region, but remember: off-road driving is prohibited by the lease agreement.
Minivans and commercial vans
- Minivans: Hyundai Staria for 9 seats at 9 500 ₽ and Kia Carnival for 8 seats at 10 500 ₽ per day — for a group or family with children.
- Vans: Lada Largus for 2 seats at 3 000 ₽ and GAZ GAZelle Next for 3 seats at 4 800 ₽ — for transporting cargo up to 2.8 L of engine displacement.
- Station wagons: Lada Largus for 7 seats at 2 800 ₽ and Lada Vesta SW Cross at 2 900 ₽ — a compromise between passenger and cargo options.
The Lada Largus van solves the task of transporting building materials or furniture without hiring movers — you load and carry yourself, which saves 2–3 thousand on carrier services.
Business and Premium
| Class | Model | Price per day |
|---|---|---|
| Business | Toyota Camry | 6 500 ₽ |
| Business | Mercedes-Benz E-Class | 11 000 ₽ |
| Premium | BMW X7 | 18 000 ₽ |
| Premium | Toyota Land Cruiser 300 | 19 000 ₽ |
| Premium | Mercedes-Benz S-Class | 25 000 ₽ |
Business class is Toyota Camry with a 200-hp engine and Mercedes-Benz E-Class with rear-wheel drive. The premium segment is represented by BMW X7 for 7 seats, Toyota Land Cruiser 300, and the flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class. For meetings with partners, Camry or E-Class is enough — status without overpaying for the brand, and the S-Class is taken for special occasions like a wedding or receiving a foreign delegation.
How to choose a car for rent in Moscow
When the question arises of which car to rent, it is better to base it not on the class but on the specific task: how many people will go, what luggage, and on what roads. The Rent-Trip fleet has 90 cars in 8 classes — from Lada Granta for 2 300 ₽ to Mercedes-Benz S-Class for 25 000 ₽ per day, so there is a suitable option for any trip.
City, countryside, family, business — whatever suits
| Task | Class | Model | Price per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| One or two people around the city | Economy | Lada Granta, Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio | 2 300–2 700 ₽ |
| Trip to the dacha or the Moscow region | Comfort | Škoda Octavia, Kia K5 | 3 800–4 500 ₽ |
| Family of 4–5 people with children | Crossover | Haval Jolion, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max | 4 200–4 900 ₽ |
| Group up to 9 people | Minivan | Hyundai Staria, Kia Carnival | 9 500–10 500 ₽ |
| Meeting partners, status trip | Business | Toyota Camry, Mercedes-Benz E-Class | 6 500–11 000 ₽ |
| Transportation of goods up to 3 meters | Commercial | Lada Largus van, GAZ GAZelle Next | 3 000–4 800 ₽ |
First of all, look at the number of seats and trunk volume, not the class: for a family of five, a crossover is more convenient than a sedan, and for a group of friends for the weekend, a minivan for 8–9 seats will replace two cars. If you are going six people with luggage, pay attention to the Lada Largus with 7 seats for 2 800 ₽ — this is the most affordable option for a large company.
Automatic or manual, petrol or diesel
Almost the entire fleet consists of cars with automatic transmission: in the capital with its traffic jams and dense traffic, a manual is tiring, especially during rush hour on the Third Ring Road or the MKAD. A manual is available in Economy — Lada Granta for 2 300 ₽ — and in commercial vehicles like the GAZ GAZelle Next. If you only drive a manual confidently, indicate this when booking — we will select a suitable car.
Fuel is simpler: most of the fleet is petrol, but there are diesel models — Toyota Land Cruiser 300 for 19 000 ₽, Hyundai Staria, and Kia Carnival. On long trips, for example to Saint Petersburg via the M-11 Neva motorway or to Kazan via the M-12 Vostok motorway, diesel is more economical on the highway, although in the city the difference is hardly noticeable. For winter rentals from December to February, choose all-wheel drive — Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max for 4 900 ₽ or Tank 300 for 7 500 ₽ confidently hold the road in snowfall, but in summer for asphalt front-wheel drive is enough.
Car rental with delivery to airports
We do not hand over cars from an office — we have no physical rental point, so the car comes to wherever you need it: to your home, office, airport, or railway station. This saves an hour or an hour and a half a day that you would have spent getting to the rental and back, and removes the question "how do I get to the car" right after your flight or train arrival.
Delivery across the capital and the region
We deliver cars throughout Moscow — from Khamovniki and Patriki to Mitino and Yasenevo — as well as to towns in the Moscow region within a reasonable distance from the MKAD ring road. The address doesn't matter: the car will come to your doorstep, a business center on Leninsky Prospekt, or a country house on Novorizhskoye Shosse. Within the MKAD ring road, delivery takes minimal time; in the region, a bit longer — the time is always confirmed when booking. We indeed have no office, and this is a deliberate decision: we don't pay for renting premises in the center, and you don't pay for that rent in the price of the car. We meet the client at the car, hand over keys and documents, jointly inspect the body, and record its condition in an acceptance report — this takes 10–15 minutes.
Airport pickup — Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky
- Sheremetyevo: north of Moscow, about 30 km from the MKAD ring road via the M-11 or Leningradskoye Shosse; we deliver to any terminal.
- Domodedovo: south, about 45 km along the Kashirskoye Shosse or M-4; the car awaits at the parking lot near the terminal.
- Vnukovo: southwest, 28 km from the MKAD ring road along the Kievskoye or Borovskoye Shosse; the closest airport to the city center.
- Zhukovsky: southeast, about 40 km along the Novoryazanskoye Shosse; convenient for airlines that fly from here.
We deliver the car to any of the four airports of the Moscow aviation hub — covering both Sheremetyevo (SVO) in the north and Zhukovsky (ZIA) in the southeast. When ordering, you provide the flight number, and we track its status: if the flight is delayed, the car will arrive for the actual arrival, not the scheduled one. At the appointed time, we meet you in the arrivals area with a sign or give detailed instructions on where the car is parked. We also work for night flights — after a red-eye, you'll be behind the wheel in the morning, not queuing for a taxi.
To railway stations and for the train
We deliver to all ten railway stations in Moscow: Leningradsky, Yaroslavsky, Kazansky, Kursky, Kievsky, Belorussky, Paveletsky, Rizhsky, Savyolovsky, and Vostochny. It is most convenient to order a car when a Sapsan or Night Express train arrives late in the evening or at night: the metro is already closed, taxis during the arrival rush hour cost more, and a rental car is waiting for you in the parking lot near the station. When delivering to a train, we rely on the actual arrival time — if the train is an hour late, you will not lose your reservation. For transit passengers with a transfer between stations lasting several hours, rental also works: return the car at Kursky, take a taxi to Paveletsky — and in two hours you are already driving around on a new car.
Rental terms and documents
To rent a car in the capital, you need a passport and a category B driving licence — this is the basis for any class. Everything else depends on the type of contract: deposit, insurance, and experience requirements are specified in the document, and they differ for different classes. Let's go through point by point what to prepare and what to look for when signing.
What you need for rental — passport and driving licence
- Passport: Russian passport for citizens of the Russian Federation - original, copies not accepted.
- Driving licence: category B licence held for at least a year for most classes.
- Bank card: in the name of the main driver, to block the deposit amount — the size of the withheld deposit is specified in the contract.
- Age: for Econom and Comfort, 21 years is enough; for Business and Premium, the requirements are higher — exact figures are specified in the contract.
- Driving experience: minimum driving experience — from 1 year for city sedans, for SUVs and minivans — from 3 years.
Deposit, insurance, and card
A deposit when renting a car is standard practice, but each service has its own scheme. At Rent-Trip, we block the amount on the main driver's card rather than taking cash — this is safer for both parties. The blocking amount depends on the car class: for a Lada Granta it is minimal, for a Mercedes-Benz S-Class it is a multiple of the daily rate. The exact amount is stated in the contract, and it is returned to the card after returning the car if there are no fines or damage.
OSAGO (compulsory third-party insurance) covers liability to third parties as required by law — it is present on every car in our fleet. CASCO (comprehensive insurance) operates according to the contract terms: what exactly is covered and the deductible amount applied in an accident are specified in the document. Please note the clause about toll roads: travel on the MSD (Moscow High-Speed Diameter), TsKAD ring, M-11 Neva, and M-12 Vostok is paid by the renter — either via the transponder in the car or by plate number within the deadline set by the road operator.
Fines from photo enforcement cameras come to the car owner, i.e., us, and we pass them on to the client. The terms of reissuing and payment deadlines are fixed in the contract — usually there are from 10 to 30 days after receiving the ruling. If you received a "letter of happiness" at your address — just forward it to us in MAX, and we will handle the payment and documents.
Rental for foreign guests
Foreign guests of the capital do not need a local passport to rent a car: a foreign passport, migration card, and valid driving licence are enough. We explain how this procedure works for citizens of other countries and what nuances to consider before arrival.
What documents a foreigner needs
- International passport: main identity document when concluding a contract.
- Migration card: issued upon entry into Russia, mandatory for all guests.
- Visa or residence permit: confirms the legality of your stay in the country.
- Driving licence: national driving licence of the country of residence is accepted if the state has signed the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
- Notarized translation of driving licence: required if the country is not party to the Vienna Convention - e.g., China. Alternative is an International Driving Permit (Article 25 of Federal Law-196).
Special features for guests from CIS countries and far abroad
For citizens of Belarus, Armenia and other CIS countries, a foreign passport, migration card and national driving licence are enough — their states have signed the Vienna Convention, so a translation is not needed. For guests from China and some other countries, the process is more complicated: licences issued outside the Vienna Convention are valid in Russia only with a notarised translation or an International Driving Permit. In our practice, there was a case when a guest from China arrived with a national licence without a translation — registration took an extra day, although the car delivery itself went as usual. Check your licence before booking: if the country is not a party to the convention, order a translation in advance — this will save time upon arrival.
How car delivery works for foreigners
We deliver the car to any point in Moscow, the Moscow region, all four airports — Sheremetyevo (SVO), Domodedovo (DME), Vnukovo (VKO), Zhukovsky (ZIA) — and to ten railway stations. When meeting at the airport, a Rent-Trip manager waits for the guest in the arrivals area with a sign, then they inspect the car together, record its condition in the report, and hand over the keys. To book, just write to MAX or call — the manager will clarify details and confirm availability of a specific model. Payment is made by the main driver's bank card; the blocked amount is specified in the contract. If your flight is delayed, let us know — we will adjust the delivery to the new arrival time.
Rented car for trips out of town
Country trips from the capital are one of the main rental scenarios, so our fleet has cars for any distance — from a dacha 40 km away to Saint Petersburg. Below are routes, the logic of toll sections, and how we prepare cars for long journeys.
Where to go in a rental car
- Saint Petersburg: ~700 km on the M-11 Neva motorway, about 7 hours on the way — comfortable in a Škoda Octavia at 3 800 ₽ or Toyota Camry at 6 500 ₽ per day.
- The Golden Ring: Sergiyev Posad is 1 hour away, then Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Suzdal, and Vladimir — from 1 to 4 hours of driving from the capital.
- Kazan: ~8 hours on the M-12 Vostok motorway, for such a trip take a Kia K5 at 4 500 ₽ or a Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max with all-wheel drive at 4 900 ₽.
- Tula and Yasnaya Polyana: ~2.5 hours on the M-2 or M-4 — Haval Jolion at 4 200 ₽ will do.
- Kolomna: ~2 hours on the M-5, convenient in any crossover from our fleet.
On the M-11 and M-12, the road is tolled along the entire route, so before a long trip check your transponder balance or be prepared to pay by vehicle number within the road operator's deadline — otherwise the fine will go to the owner, i.e., to us, and we will pass it on to you.
How toll roads and parking work
| Road | Rate | Special feature |
|---|---|---|
| MSD (Moscow High-Speed Diameter) | 19 ₽ per section during peak (weekdays 7:00–11:00 and 16:00–20:00) | Off-peak and weekends free; transit without exiting — 950 ₽ |
| TsKAD ring | 19 ₽ per section during peak, the full circle is 171 ₽ | Off-peak free; transit — 950 ₽ |
| M-11 Neva motorway | Paid along the entire route | Moscow — Saint Petersburg |
| M-12 Vostok motorway | 5 909 ₽ for a car for the whole route | Moscow — Kazan |
A transponder gives a discount of up to 25% on the MSD (Moscow High-Speed Diameter) and the TsKAD ring. In the capital, paid parking in the center will cost 380–800 ₽ per hour from 8:00 to 21:00, at night — 200 ₽; for non-payment the fine is 5 000 ₽, towing — 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage.
Weekend car rental for a trip out of town
For a trip to the countryside or the Moscow region at the weekend, take a car from Friday — a week counts as 6 days, so two days will be cheaper than two separate rentals. In winter, from December to February, our entire fleet is switched to winter tyres — this is a legal requirement, so you can drive out of town in a snowfall without worry. In summer months, studded tyres are prohibited, but for asphalt routes in the Moscow region and the Golden Ring, summer tyres are sufficient. If you plan more than 500 km per day, let us know when booking — we will check the pressure and fluid levels before delivery so you do not waste time on the road.
Fines, accidents and insurance when renting a car
Cameras in the capital record violations around the clock, and fines go to the car owner — that is, to the rental company, and we pass them on to the renter. So that your trip does not end with an unexpected charge, let's look at how fines work, what to do in an accident, and what insurance covers.
How fines from cameras arrive
- The owner receives a letter: camera fines are sent to the car's registration address, i.e., to Rent-Trip, not to your home.
- Re-invoicing to the renter: we forward the ruling and charge it to you — payment occurs after checking the photo and details.
- Payment terms: meeting the 60-day deadline from the date of the ruling is important, otherwise the fine doubles and the case goes to bailiffs.
- Photo check: the ruling includes a camera image — it's easy to check the date, time, and car number.
- Appeals: if you were not the driver (for example, if the car was transferred to another driver under the contract), the ruling can be challenged within 10 days.
Parking, towing, and toll roads
Paid parking in the city center costs 380–800 ₽ per hour from 8:00 to 21:00, at night — 200 ₽ per hour. The fine for non-payment is 5 000 ₽, and towing will cost 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage at the impound lot. Check the parking zone by markings and signs before leaving your car — within the Garden Ring, there are more paid spots than free ones. The transponder for paid sections of the MSD, TsKAD, M-11, and M-12 is in the car, but tolls are charged to the owner and also re-invoiced to the renter. If you drive along the M-12 to Kazan, a passenger car will cost 5 909 ₽ for the entire route — factor this into your trip budget.
What to do in case of an accident
In any collision, even a minor one, stop, turn on the hazard lights, and set up the warning triangle. If there are injured people, call 112; if not, you can file a European accident report, but only with mutual consent of the drivers and no disagreements. Immediately after recording the circumstances, contact us via MAX or phone — we will advise what documents are needed and how to proceed. Do not leave the accident scene: this deprives you of the right to insurance compensation and turns an administrative case into a criminal one.
Insurance: OSAGO (compulsory third-party insurance), CASCO (comprehensive insurance), and your liability
OSAGO is compulsory insurance that covers damage you cause to another car and people's health, and it applies to every registered vehicle by law. CASCO is voluntary, and its terms are specified in the rental agreement: what exactly the policy covers, the deductible amount, and how it is applied. For the winter season, from December to February, the entire fleet is fitted with winter tires — this is a requirement of the technical regulation TR TS 018/2011, and it applies to all cars without exception. In our practice, most disputes after an accident arise not because of insurance but because of untimely notification — call us before you start processing the documents yourself; this will save several days.
