Paid roads and parking — car rental in Moscow
We are figuring out how toll roads, parking, and fines work in Moscow so that a trip in a rented car does not bring surprises: our fleet has 90 cars of eight classes — from the Lada Granta to the Hyundai Staria, from 2 300 to 33 000 ₽ per day.
How it works: step by step
You receive the car at an address in Moscow or at one of the airports — Sheremetyevo (SVO), Domodedovo (DME), Vnukovo (VKO), Zhukovsky (ZIA). Along with the keys, we hand over the car documents and a detailed guide on toll roads and parking. It indicates which sections are tolled, how to pay, and what to do in case of a fine.
Before setting off, check your route: within the city, the MSD and TsKAD are toll roads, and outside the city, the M-11 and M-12 motorways. If you are going to Saint Petersburg or Kazan, allow time for payment — travel on the M-11 and M-12 is paid for the entire length.
To pay for travel, use the transponder if it is installed in the car, or pay by car number on the road operator's website within the set deadline. The transponder gives a discount of up to 25% on tolls. If there is no transponder, clarify at booking how to pay for travel — usually this is done through the app or on the website.
When parking in the center of Moscow, pay for each hour: rates start from 380 ₽/hour during the daytime. At night, from 21:00 to 8:00, it is 200 ₽/hour. The most convenient way is to pay via a mobile app — it works for all rented cars.
How much does it cost and who pays
Tolls on Moscow and region highways in 2026 increased by 8–10%. On the MSD (Moscow High-Speed Diameter) and TsKAD ring, travel on a section during peak hours costs 19 ₽, off-peak and weekends – free. Transit without exiting will cost 950 ₽. A full circle on the TsKAD ring – 171 ₽. M-12 Vostok motorway to Kazan for a passenger car (class 1) – 5 909 ₽ for the entire route.
The renter bears the costs of toll roads and parking. We do not include them in the rental price — you pay for them directly. If you receive a camera fine, it comes to the car owner, i.e., us, and we re-invoice it to you. The fine amount must be reimbursed within the period specified in the rental agreement.
Parking in central Moscow is paid from 8:00 to 21:00. An hour within the Garden Ring costs 380–800 ₽ depending on the zone. The fine for non-payment of parking is 5 000 ₽. If the car is towed, you will have to pay 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage.
Please note: on weekends, parking rates are usually lower, and on the MSD and TsKAD outside peak hours, passage is free. Plan your trips accordingly to save money.
What happens if something goes wrong
If you didn't pay for travel on a toll road or parking, the system records the violation, and the fine goes to the car owner — that is, us. As the owner, we receive the notice and pass it on to you. You need to pay the fine on time; otherwise, it doubles.
If your car was towed for illegal parking, contact us — we'll tell you which impound lot to look for it in. Towing and storage costs are paid by you.
If you have damaged the car or been in an accident, follow the instructions in the rental agreement: fill out a European accident report or call traffic police officers. OSAGO (compulsory third-party insurance) covers damage to third parties, and the terms for repairing your car are specified in the rental agreement. Do not try to hide damage — it will complicate the process.
Brief summary: read the contract carefully, study toll road and parking tariffs in advance, use a transponder and mobile apps. We are always in touch via messenger — if you have questions, write, we'll advise.
