Zeekr electric car rental in Moscow: conditions and prices
From 18 000 ₽ per day — rental of Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009 electric cars in Moscow. All-wheel drive, 544 hp, range up to 544 km, automatic, 5 or 6 seats.
Why rent an electric car in Moscow
Electric drive in rental is not an experiment but a practical choice for a city with dense traffic and toll roads. Our Rent-Trip fleet has two models — Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009, both with all-wheel drive and a range that is enough for a day in the capital and for a trip out of town.
What does an electric car give for rent:
- Cabin quietness: electric motors operate without the noise of an internal combustion engine; on the MKAD ring road and the Third Ring Road, it's easier to talk to passengers than in a car with a petrol engine.
- All-wheel drive: Both models have 544 hp and all-wheel drive, which gives confident starts from traffic lights and stability on the wet asphalt of the Garden Ring.
- No entry restrictions: Electric vehicles are allowed into the capital's center without additional conditions, unlike some cars with internal combustion engines during peak hours.
- Range for highway driving: The road to Saint Petersburg via the M-11 Neva motorway (~700 km) or to Kazan via the M-12 Vostok motorway does not require frequent charging stops if you plan your route through the Moscow region.
We hand over electric vehicles to clients with a full battery charge and remind them at pickup: in winter, the real range decreases by 15–20% due to the operation of the cabin heater and battery. If you plan a long trip, factor in a stop for fast charging in Tver or Vladimir, which will take 30–40 minutes.
Renting an electric car is also a way to evaluate the technology before buying: a day behind the wheel of a Zeekr 001 gives more understanding than any dealer test drive. Our fleet has 90 cars in 8 classes, but it's the electric Zeekrs that are most often taken for a week—to calmly drive around the city and beyond without rushing.
Two models for hire
In the Rent-Trip fleet, electric vehicles are represented by two Zeekr models: the 001 liftback and the 009 minivan. Both are all-wheel drive, have 544 hp, automatic transmission, and a range that covers both city trips on the Garden Ring and long hauls on the M-11 Neva motorway to Saint Petersburg.
Zeekr 001 — a liftback for city and highway.
Zeekr 001 is a premium 5-seat liftback that we most often deliver to Khamovniki, Patriki, and Moscow City. All-wheel drive and 544 hp make it confident on wet asphalt of the Third Ring Road and on the M-12 to Kazan. Inside, there are five full seats, and the liftback trunk accommodates suitcases for a weekend trip for two. For a couple or a group of up to five, this model covers both business meetings and weekend trips to the Moscow region.
Zeekr 009 — a minivan for family and six passengers
Zeekr 009 — a 6-seat minivan, a rare format in the capital's rental market. We deliver it for families with children or groups of colleagues: three rows of seats, spacious cabin, all-wheel drive for winter conditions. A practical scenario — a trip to Sheremetyevo or Domodedovo airport with the whole family and luggage, or a Golden Ring route with stops in Sergiyev Posad and Suzdal. In our practice, the 009 is more often rented for a week than for a day — just for such trips.
Comparison of models by tasks
| Parameter | Zeekr 001 | Zeekr 009 |
|---|---|---|
| Class | Premium liftback | Minivan |
| Seats | 5 | 6 |
| Drive | All-wheel | All-wheel |
| Power | 544 hp | 544 hp |
| Price per day | 18 000 ₽ | 18 000 ₽ |
| Who it suits | A couple, business trip, up to 5 people | Family, group of up to 6 people, lots of luggage |
Both models are rented with the same set of documents – a passport and a category B driving licence for Russian citizens. If you are travelling in the 009 with six people, note that the luggage compartment of the minivan with all three rows occupied is smaller than that of the liftback with the second row folded – for a long week-long route, this is worth checking when booking.
Cost of renting an electric car in Moscow
The cost of renting an electric car from us is 18 000 ₽ per day for both models, Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009. A week will cost from 108 000 ₽, and a month from 378 000 ₽: the longer the term, the lower the price per day.
Rental formats and rates
- Daily: 18 000 ₽ per day — the basic format for trips of one to two days, for example to Tula or Kolomna along the asphalt highways M-2 and M-4.
- Week: from 108 000 ₽ — essentially six days at the price of seven calendar days; convenient for a business trip or vacation with a stop in the Golden Ring.
- Month: from 378 000 ₽ — a rate for those who take an electric car for a long time: driving along the M-12 to Kazan and back, work trips around the Moscow region, waiting for their own car to be repaired.
What is included in the price
The 18 000 ₽ per day includes car delivery within the capital, the Moscow region, to the four airports and railway stations, as well as OSAGO (compulsory third-party insurance), which by law covers every registered vehicle. CASCO (comprehensive insurance) terms, the deposit amount, and the mileage limit are specified in the rental contract and depend on the car class. The deposit is blocked on the main driver's bank card—the amount is stated in the agreement.
The renter pays for toll roads separately: driving on the MSD and TsKAD costs from 19 ₽ per segment during peak hours from 7:00 to 11:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 on weekdays; off-peak and on weekends it is free; transit without exits costs 950 ₽. Fines from cameras go to the owner and are re-invoiced to the renter.
How to save money
When comparing the daily rate with the weekly one, the benefit is obvious: when booking for a week, a day costs like six days according to the price list, and with a monthly format it is even lower. In our opinion, for a trip from Moscow to Saint Petersburg along the M-11 Neva motorway, it makes sense to take a car for a week: the electric car's range and overnight charging fit into the route without rushing. Clarify the exact terms of extension and return when booking via MAX or by phone — the manager will record everything in the contract.
Documents for renting an electric car in Moscow
For renting a Zeekr 001 or Zeekr 009, a Russian citizen only needs a passport and a Category B driving licence. A foreign renter will need more documents: a foreign passport, migration card, visa or residence permit, as well as a national driving licence. If the licence was issued in a country not party to the Vienna Convention (for example, China), it is valid only with a notarized translation into Russian or with an International Driving Permit — this is a requirement of Article 25 of Federal Law No. 196.
What to bring with you
- Passport: for citizens of the Russian Federation — internal passport; for foreigners — international passport with visa or residence permit and migration card.
- Driving licence: category B for both models; for foreigners — national licence with a translation or an International Driving Permit.
- Bank card: for the insurance deposit, a card in the primary driver's name is required; the hold amount is specified in the contract.
- Age and experience: requirements increase with the vehicle class; exact values are specified in the contract.
Registration features
In our experience, the paperwork takes 15–20 minutes: we check documents, sign the contract, and hand over the keys. Age and driving experience affect the decision — for electric vehicles with 544 hp, we are stricter in the check than for economy-class cars. The specific requirements for age and experience are specified in the contract and clarified when booking.
For foreign guests of the capital, it's important to remember: if your licence doesn't meet the Vienna Convention, arrange a notarized translation in advance — this will save time when the car is delivered. We deliver electric cars around Moscow, the region, and to four airports, so documents can be checked directly upon meeting. If in doubt about the package composition, write to us in MAX — we'll advise what to prepare.
Insurance, fines, and toll roads when renting an electric vehicle
The rules for insurance, fines, and toll roads when renting an electric car are specified in the contract—but it's better to know the key principles before booking.
OSAGO and CASCO
- OSAGO: Compulsory third-party motor liability insurance covers every registered vehicle — by law, it covers damage to third parties in an accident.
- CASCO (comprehensive insurance): Voluntary insurance of the car itself; terms and coverage are set out in the rental contract — check the scope of risks when booking.
- Zeekr electric cars: Both models in our fleet – the Zeekr 001 and the Zeekr 009 – are processed under the standard scheme; no separate insurance for electric cars is required.
Fines from cameras and parking
Traffic camera fines go to the car owner, i.e., the rental, and are re-invoiced to the renter — this is standard practice for the capital. In the center, paid parking costs 380–800 ₽/hour from 8:00 to 21:00, at night — 200 ₽/hour; the fine for non-payment is 5 000 ₽, towing — 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage. Our clients most often park near Patriki, on Chistye Prudy, and in the Moscow City area — there the rates are maximum, so we recommend budgeting for parking costs in advance.
Toll roads and transponder
The MSD, TsKAD ring, M-11 and M-12 are toll roads, and payment falls on the renter. The MSD has 9 sections at 19 ₽ per section during peak hours (weekdays 7:00–11:00 and 16:00–20:00), off-peak and on weekends — free; transit without exiting — 950 ₽. The TsKAD ring: 19 ₽ per section at peak times, the full circle 171 ₽, transit 950 ₽. If you plan a trip to Saint Petersburg via the M-11 Neva motorway or to Kazan via the M-12 Vostok motorway (car class — 5 909 ₽ for the entire route), note: a transponder gives a discount of up to 25%, but rates have increased by 8–10%.
In the Rent-Trip contract, we specify the payment method: by transponder or by state license plate within the road operator's timeframe. In our experience, customers with electric vehicles more often choose a route to Tula or Kolomna — there are fewer toll sections, and the Zeekr's range allows you to drive round trip without recharging.
Electric cars for rent in Moscow with delivery to your address
We have no physical office, so delivering an electric car is always a meeting with the client at a convenient point in the capital or the region. We bring the car to an address within the city and the Moscow region, to the four airports, and to any of the ten railway stations. We meet with documents and keys where it is convenient for you to start your trip.
Where we deliver the car
- Sheremetyevo: north, about 30 km from the MKAD ring road, access via the M-11 or Leningradskoye Shosse.
- Domodedovo: south, roughly 45 km, the drive is along Kashirskoye Highway or the M-4.
- Vnukovo: southwest, about 28 km, along the Kiev or Borovskoye highway.
- Zhukovsky: southeast, about 40 km along the Novoryazanskoye Highway.
- Railway stations: Leningradsky, Yaroslavsky, Kazansky, Kursky, Kievsky, Belorussky, Paveletsky, and others—we bring you to the required entrance.
On the delivery day, we clarify the terminal or exit — airports have several arrival zones. At railway stations, we aim for the address closest to the entrance so you don't have to walk across the entire station square.
How the meeting goes
When handing over, we check the documents, record the condition of the body and interior, and show how to use the charging port. The electric car is handed over with a charged battery — enough for city trips and trips to the region. If you are planning a route to Saint Petersburg via the M-11 or to Kazan via the M-12, there are enough charging stations along the highways, but it is better to plan the route in advance, taking into account stops.
Renting an electric car with delivery to the airport is common practice for arrival or departure. The car waits at the terminal, we hand over the keys personally. When booking, provide the exact flight time — if you are delayed, notify us in MAX, and we will adjust the meeting to the new arrival time.
We also accept returns at a convenient location: at home, at the office, or at the airport before departure. The main thing is to notify us of the place and time of return in advance to coordinate the meeting. The full time schedule and delivery conditions are specified in the contract.
Winter rental of an electric car in Moscow
In winter, a capital electric car is not inferior to a petrol one: all-wheel drive and 544 hp on both Zeekr models confidently handle snowy slush, and the battery pre-heating preserves the range. December–February is a normal season for rentals; we deliver the car to any district of Moscow and the region. Below is what to consider before the trip.
Winter tyres and car preparation
- Seasonal tires: by law (TR TS 018/2011) winter tyres are mandatory from December to February, the entire Rent-Trip fleet is changed in advance, studded tyres are prohibited in summer.
- Heating: Zeekr electric vehicles preheat the cabin and battery from the power outlet or before the trip via the app — in cold weather this preserves up to 15–20% of the range.
- Range in winter: on the M-11 Neva motorway or the M-12 Vostok motorway, consumption is higher than in summer; plan stops at fast chargers — there are enough along both routes.
Parking and fines in the winter capital
Paid parking in the center — within the Garden Ring and on the Third Ring Road — costs 380–800 ₽/hour from 8:00 to 21:00, at night — 200 ₽/hour. The fine for non-payment is 5 000 ₽, towing — 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage at a special lot. In winter after a snowfall, watch for temporary stopping signs: street cleaning begins early, and the car may be moved. Fines from cameras go to the owner — the rental company — we re-invoice them to the renter, as specified in the agreement.
Countryside routes in winter
During a snowfall, roads in the Moscow region are cleared promptly, but it is better to leave after 10:00, when snowploughs have covered the main routes. For a winter weekend, you can realistically leave the capital to Tula and Yasnaya Polyana — 2.5 hours via the M-2 or M-4, to Kolomna — 2 hours via the M-5, to Sergiyev Posad via the Yaroslavl highway — about an hour. Toll sections of the MSD, TsKAD, M-11, and M-12 are paid by the renter — with a transponder or by car number within the road operator's timeframe; the transponder gives a discount of up to 25%.
In our experience, in winter they most often take the Zeekr 009 — a minivan with 6 seats: families go out of town to the dacha or the Golden Ring, and all-wheel drive with high ground clearance helps on cleared but slippery exits. For two people, the Zeekr 001 is enough. Clarify the terms of winter rental — tires, preheating, charging — when booking via MAX or by phone; details are specified in the contract.
