Which Kia models are available for rent and how much does the rental cost
The Moscow fleet of Rent-Trip includes five Kia models: from the compact Rio to the eight-seat Carnival, priced from 2 700 to 10 500 ₽ per day. All vehicles have automatic transmission, petrol or diesel engines, and front- or all-wheel drive. Below are prices and characteristics for each model, so you can immediately understand which car fits your trip scenario.

| Kia Carnival | Minivan | Minivan | 8 | Diesel | Front-wheel | 2.2 L, 199 hp | 10 500 ₽/day |
How rental prices are formed
The cost depends on the car class: Rio covers basic city tasks, Cerato and K5 add comfort on the highway, Sportage is needed for all-wheel drive, and Carnival is the only eight-seat option in the fleet. We do not include hidden fees in the price — it includes OSAGO, which is mandatory by law for every registered vehicle. The terms of CASCO and the amount of the security deposit are specified in the contract.
For long-term rental, the daily rate decreases: a week will cost from 16 200 ₽ (calculated as six days), a month — from 56 700 ₽ (calculated as 21 days). On a per-day basis, this is noticeably more favorable than the daily rate. Exact long-term terms are clarified when booking.
Documents and conditions for renting a Kia in Moscow
For renting a Kia, you will need a passport and a Category B driving licence. We accept applications on the website or via MAX, and deliver the car to a convenient location in Moscow and the region — Rent-Trip does not have a separate office, so we meet where it is convenient for you: at home, at the office, or at the airport.
What documents are needed for rental
- Russian passport: for citizens of Russia — the main document confirming identity.
- Driving licence: category B, driving experience — per contract requirements for each model.
- For foreigners: international passport, migration card, visa or residence permit, national driving licence.
- Licences not under the Vienna Convention: For example, Chinese ones — need a notarized translation or an international permit (Article 25 of Federal Law No. 196).
- Bank card: In the name of the main driver for the insurance deposit, the amount is specified in the rental contract.
Terms of rental without a driver
| Parameter | Condition |
|---|---|
| Format | Without a driver, the car is handed over personally |
| Insurance | OSAGO is mandatory by law, CASCO is by contract |
| Deposit | Specified in the rental agreement |
| Car delivery | Within Moscow, the region, to airports and railway stations |
| Driver age and experience | Depends on the car class, figures in the contract |
All Kia vehicles in our fleet are automatic, with air conditioning, and season-ready. At handover, we note the condition of the body and interior and show you the controls—this takes about 15 minutes. The remaining fuel and mileage limit are recorded in the acceptance act; details are in the rental agreement.
Camera fines go to the vehicle owner; we reissue them to the renter by the order number. Toll roads—MSD, TsKAD, M-11, M-12—are paid separately by the renter, via transponder or by plate number within the road operator's deadline. If you plan frequent trips on toll roads, let us know when booking—we'll advise on the most convenient payment method.
Kia rental in Moscow — where to go — airports and countryside
We deliver cars to any of the capital's four airports and all ten railway stations—the car awaits you at the terminal exit or right at the station entrance. This is convenient when you arrive at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, or Zhukovsky: no need to catch a taxi to the city and back. We hand over the keys upon meeting; the paperwork takes 10–15 minutes, and you immediately head off to your business—to an office on Presnenskaya Embankment or to a hotel in Khamovniki.
Routes from the capital in a rented Kia
- The Golden Ring: Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Suzdal, Vladimir — 1 to 4 hours of driving on asphalt; convenient to split over 2–3 days.
- Saint Petersburg: The M-11 Neva motorway, about 700 km and 7 hours; the road is tolled along its entire length, a transponder gives a discount of up to 25%.
- Tula and Yasnaya Polyana: about 2.5 hours along the M-2 or M-4 — an option for a busy weekend.
- Kolomna: About 2 hours along the M-5; a good route for your first trip out of town.
- Kazan: The M-12 Vostok motorway, about 8 hours; for a passenger car, the fare for the entire route is 5 909 ₽.
Toll roads and parking in the capital
Toll sections of the MSD and TsKAD operate on the same logic: on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, travel for one section costs 19 ₽, outside peak hours and on weekends—free. Transit without exiting will cost 950 ₽. Payment is automatically deducted by license plate or via a transponder—the main thing is to meet the road operator's deadline. In the center, paid parking from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM costs 380–800 ₽ per hour, at night—200 ₽; a fine for non-payment is 5 000 ₽, so it is easier to leave the Kia at a park-and-ride lot near the Third Ring Road and take the metro. Fines from cameras are sent to the car owner, i.e., Rent-Trip, and we reissue them to the renter—this is standard practice stipulated in the contract.
Car delivery
Car delivery is part of our service: we deliver Kia across the city and region, to airports Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky, as well as to Leningradsky, Kazansky, Kursky, and other railway stations. When planning your route, note that Domodedovo is about 45 km via Kashirskoye Highway, Sheremetyevo about 30 km via the M-11 or Leningradskoye Highway. For long trips, e.g., to Saint Petersburg, take a model with a diesel engine – a Kia Carnival goes further on a full tank than gasoline sedans.
How to choose a Kia for your rental trip
The choice of a Kia model for rent depends on the number of passengers, route, and season. Our fleet has five models — from the compact Rio to the eight-seat Carnival — and each has its own purpose. Below we break down the scenarios for which clients most often rent a particular car.
Kia Rio — for weekdays and trips around Moscow
Kia Rio: an economy-class sedan for 2 700 ₽ per day, 123 hp and front-wheel drive — enough for moving around the Garden Ring and the Third Ring Road, parking on narrow streets of Khamovniki or Patriki is easier than in a crossover. Fuel consumption is minimal in the lineup, and the automatic and climate control cover the basic needs of a city trip — from Belorussky Station to the Aeroexpress at Paveletsky Station. For a trip of one or two people with a couple of bags, Rio is the most rational budget option.
Kia Cerato and Kia K5 — for business trips
Kia Cerato: a comfortable sedan for 3 600 ₽ per day with a 2.0 L engine (150 hp) — chosen for meetings in Moscow City or partner transfers from Sheremetyevo (SVO) when you need a neat appearance without overpaying for the executive class. Kia K5: 900 ₽ more expensive (4 500 ₽ per day) gives more space in the back row and feels more confident on the MSD (Moscow High-Speed Diameter) and the TsKAD ring when traveling to Domodedovo (DME) or Zhukovsky (ZIA) airports. Both models are automatic with front-wheel drive, the difference in equipment and noise insulation is felt on the highway already beyond the MKAD ring road.
Kia Sportage — for winter and suburban routes
Kia Sportage: a crossover for 5 200 ₽ per day with all-wheel drive and 150 hp — the only one of our Kias with all-wheel drive, which gives a margin of confidence on snowy roads of the Moscow region in December–February. Ground clearance and short overhangs forgive ruts on secondary roads to dachas in Kuntsevo or Strogino, and the trunk holds more than sedans. The all-wheel-drive Sportage is the answer to the question “what to take if we are going out of town in the off-season” when the asphalt is wet and the forecast promises snow.
Kia Carnival — when there are eight passengers
Kia Carnival: an 8-seat minivan with 2.2 L diesel (199 hp) for 10 500 ₽ per day — the only model in the fleet for a group of five or more people, and you don't have to put luggage on your lap. The diesel engine is economical on long routes: a trip along the M-12 to Kazan or the Golden Ring with a full load costs less in fuel than petrol crossovers. Carnival with front-wheel drive and automatic is an option for family outings and group transfers where every seat matters.
If you are torn between sedans, take the Rio for one or two people and the Cerato when you need extra space; for winter trips and the Moscow region, take the Sportage, and for groups of five or more, the Carnival. The rental terms for a specific model, including the deposit and mileage limit, are specified in the rental agreement.
Kia rental in Moscow in winter — tires and specifics
In winter, renting a Kia in the capital is common practice: the fleet is fitted with winter tires, and all-wheel-drive cars go first. We tell you what is important to know before renting a Kia in the cold season.
Winter tires are a mandatory condition
From December to February, a requirement of the technical regulations is in effect in Russia: all cars must have winter tyres. Our Kia fleet is switched in accordance with the season — this applies to both the Rio and the Carnival, and other models. We do not use studded tyres in summer — from June to August they are prohibited.
All-wheel drive — when it is needed
Kia Sportage in our configuration is the only all-wheel-drive model in the Kia lineup. Front-wheel drive on Rio, Cerato, K5, and Carnival performs confidently in the city: Moscow roads are cleared, and the asphalt up to the Third Ring Road and the MKAD ring road is treated with de-icing agents. All-wheel drive will be useful for trips to the Moscow region, where suburban settlements may be cleared with a delay.
How to prepare for a winter trip
- Engine warm-up: before driving, let the car idle for 3–5 minutes — this is normal for winter.
- Snow cleaning: Be sure to clear snow from the entire roof and mirrors — the fine for an uncleaned car will be issued to you as the driver.
- Distance: on snow, the braking distance is longer — account for that in heavy traffic on the Garden Ring.
In our experience, in winter clients more often choose the Sportage for out-of-town trips and the Carnival for family outings for 8 people — if you plan to pick up the car in December-February, check the availability of an all-wheel-drive model when booking via MAX or by phone.
Insurance, fines, and rental rules for Kia
Each car in our fleet is insured under OSAGO (compulsory third-party insurance) — this is a mandatory condition for registering a car in Russia, so you always drive legally. Other insurance products, including CASCO (comprehensive insurance) and deposit terms, are specified in the contract — when handing over the car, we explain in detail what the policy covers and what amounts are blocked on the card.
- OSAGO: covers liability to other road users; applies automatically to every vehicle in the fleet.
- CASCO (comprehensive insurance): It protects the car itself, but the coverage composition is determined by the contract — the terms are listed in the document when the car is handed over.
- Camera fines: go to the vehicle owner, that is, the rental company, after which we reissue them to the renter by the notice number.
- Toll roads: The MSD, TsKAD ring, M-11 and M-12 are paid by the renter — via transponder or vehicle number within the road operator's deadline.
- Parking in the center: from 8:00 to 21:00 — 380–800 ₽/hour, at night — 200 ₽/hour; fine for non-payment — 5 000 ₽.
Fine for unpaid parking in the center is 5 000 ₽, and towing the car will cost 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage at the impound lot. Therefore, before a trip to Patriarch's Ponds or Kitay-Gorod, check the parking zone in the app — most streets inside the Garden Ring are paid from 8:00 to 21:00 without days off.
When driving on the MSD, consider the tolls: 19 ₽ per section during peak hours (weekdays 7:00–11:00 and 16:00–20:00), free outside peak and on weekends, and transit without exiting — 950 ₽. On the TsKAD ring, a similar scheme applies: the full circle costs 171 ₽ during peak hours, free outside peak. A transponder gives a discount of up to 25%, so frequent trips on toll roads are more profitable with it — check its availability when booking.
Favorable rental formats for Kia — week or month
Long-term rental of a Kia in Moscow reduces the daily rate by 14–17%: a week is calculated as six days, a month as 21 days. Thus, a Kia Rio for a week will cost from 16 200 ₽ instead of 18 900 ₽ with daily payment, and for a month — from 56 700 ₽ instead of 81 000 ₽. For trips of five days or more, the format with recalculation of days is almost always more profitable than extending the daily rate.
How weekly and monthly rates are calculated
- Week (7 days): The rate equals the cost of six days — the seventh day is effectively free. Rio — from 16 200 ₽, Cerato — from 21 600 ₽, K5 — from 27 000 ₽, Sportage — from 31 200 ₽, Carnival — from 63 000 ₽.
- Month (30 days): The rate equals the cost of 21 days. Rio — from 56 700 ₽, Cerato — from 75 600 ₽, K5 — from 94 500 ₽, Sportage — from 109 200 ₽, Carnival — from 220 500 ₽.
- Re-calculation in the contract: At booking, the daily rate is fixed; the total for a week or month is calculated automatically and specified in the contract.
- Extension: if the trip duration changes, the difference is recalculated on the same principle — terms are clarified at booking.
Which format fits your trip
- 1–4 days: Daily rates: Rio from 2 700 ₽, Cerato from 3 600 ₽, K5 from 4 500 ₽, Sportage from 5 200 ₽, Carnival from 10 500 ₽ per day.
- 5–10 days: The weekly format is more advantageous – for example, a Sportage for a week from 31 200 ₽ versus 36 400 ₽ when paying per day; the difference covers parking in the center for several hours.
- From two weeks: the monthly rate gives the lowest price per day — the Rio comes out to about 1 890 ₽ per day, which is comparable to long-term rental through aggregators, but with car delivery to any point in the capital.
In my opinion, the monthly format is justified if the car is needed for daily business trips or during repairs of your own car. In our practice, clients who rent a Kia for a month more often choose Rio or Cerato — their fuel consumption is lower than the K5 with a two-liter engine, and the difference in power is not critical for the city. When booking, clarify which rate applies to your dates — sometimes a combination of daily and long-term periods in one trip gives more flexibility than a single monthly contract.
