It is not an "economy" car with minimal equipment, but full comfort: air conditioning, multimedia, and ample space in the rear row. If your budget is limited but you want comfort class, the Emgrand gets the job done without overpaying. In our experience, it is most often rented for 2–3 days for business trips around the capital.

Škoda Octavia and Moskvich 6 — liftbacks with an enlarged trunk

Škoda Octavia: liftback with a 1.4 L engine producing 150 hp for 3 800 ₽ per day — a practical choice for those who value trunk space. Moskvich 6: another liftback in the fleet, 1.5 L producing 136 hp for 3 500 ₽ per day. Both models feature an enlarged fifth-door opening: loading a suitcase or large bag is noticeably easier than into a classic sedan. For this money, you get nearly double the power: 238 hp vs. 122 hp, which is noticeable on the highway during overtaking. For trips around the capital and short out-of-town routes, the younger models suffice — 113–136 hp confidently keeps up with traffic on the MKAD ring road and Third Ring Road.

Weekly rental from 19 800 RUB, monthly from 69 300 RUB

For long-term rental, the price per day decreases: a week is calculated as six days, a month as 21 days. On the base model this is 19 800 ₽ for seven days and 69 300 ₽ for a month — the benefit compared to daily payment is obvious. This format is suitable if you need a car while your own is being repaired or for business trips around the Moscow region.

When switching from daily rental to monthly, only the daily rate changes. Exact terms of long-term tariffs, including the deposit and mileage limit, are specified in the rental agreement; details can be clarified by phone or in MAX before booking.

Documents and terms for renting a comfort-class car

To rent a comfort-class car in the capital, you need a minimum of documents: a passport and a category B driving licence. We check the documents when delivering the car — at the airport, at your home, or at the client's office, so a physical office is not needed for paperwork.

What documents are needed for rental in Moscow

• Russian passport: the main document for Russian citizens confirming identity when concluding a rental agreement.
• Driving licence: A category B licence — required to drive comfort-class sedans; all 13 models in our fleet have automatic transmission.

Guests of the capital need a foreign passport, migration card, and visa or residence permit. A driver's license from their own country is suitable if it was issued by a state party to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. For licenses from China and other countries outside the Convention, a notarized translation or an International Driving Permit will be required — this is a requirement of Article 25 of Federal Law No. 196-FZ.

Any car from our comfort-class fleet is insured under OSAGO — this is a legal requirement for all vehicles in Russia. CASCO terms, the deposit amount, and the procedure in the event of an accident are specified in the agreement we sign when handing over the keys.

OSAGO and CASCO: what is covered

• OSAGO: Compulsory third-party liability insurance covers every car in the Rent-Trip fleet and compensates damage to the injured party in an accident caused by you.
• CASCO (comprehensive insurance): Voluntary insurance of the car itself against damage and theft — the insurance terms for each comfort-class car are specified in the rental contract.
• Deposit: The deposit for a comfort-class car is held on the primary driver's card—the amount is fixed in the rental agreement.
• Rental conditions: mileage limits and other individual conditions are set for each model — exact parameters are agreed upon when booking.

What to do in case of an accident in a rented car

In any incident involving a hired comfort-class car, first stop and turn on the hazard lights. If there are injuries, call an ambulance and the traffic police; for minor damage, it is permissible to file a European accident report with mutual consent of the parties. Take photos of the vehicle positions, damage, and the general scene — these will be needed in the investigation. Then contact us by phone or via MAX: a Rent-Trip manager will advise on next steps and, if necessary, arrange towing or a replacement car. Do not leave the accident scene until documents are processed — this is considered leaving the scene of an accident. Submit all traffic police documents to us within 24 hours, otherwise insurance settlement will be delayed. Airport pickup: how to get the car

• Sheremetyevo: North of the capital, about 30 km from the MKAD ring road via the M-11 or Leningradskoye Shosse — we deliver to terminals B and C.
• Domodedovo: south, about 45 km along Kashirskoye Highway or M-4 — the car is waiting in the parking lot near the terminal.
• Vnukovo: southwest, 28 km along the Kievskoye or Borovskoye Highway — we meet at the entrance to the air terminal.
• Zhukovsky: southeast, about 40 km along Novoryazanskoye Highway — arrival at the terminal 15–20 minutes before the flight lands.

When renting a comfort-class car with airport delivery, allow 20–30 minutes for vehicle inspection and contract signing — it's convenient to do before heading into the city. In the documents, we specify the actual time of key handover so that the rental starts exactly from that moment.

• Kazan: ~8 hours on the M-12 Vostok motorway; for such a trip, take a Chery Arrizo 8 with a 1.6 L engine producing 186 hp — fuel consumption on the highway is lower than its two-liter counterparts.
• Tula and Yasnaya Polyana: ~2.5 hours along the M-2 or M-4; a convenient one-day route in any of our sedans.

Toll roads: MSD, TsKAD, M-11 and M-12

The renter pays for travel on toll sections independently — by transponder or by car license plate within the road operator's deadline. On the M-11 and M-12 payment is mandatory along the entire route. Within the capital, the Moscow High-Speed Diameter charges 19 ₽ per section during rush hours (weekdays 7:00–11:00 and 16:00–20:00), outside peak hours and on weekends travel is free; transit without exit will cost 950 ₽. The TsKAD costs 19 ₽ per section at peak times, the full circle — 171 ₽, transit — 950 ₽. The transponder gives a discount of up to 25%, tariffs have increased by 8–10%. The presence of a transponder in the car and the procedure for debiting payment are specified in the rental agreement.

For a long road, take a model with power from 150 hp: the Kia K5, Hyundai Sonata, or Mazda 6 overtake trucks on the highway more confidently than the 122-hp Geely Emgrand. When planning a route to the Golden Ring, allow time for parking in city centres — paid zones operate under the same rules as in Moscow.

Fines from cameras and winter tires when renting

Traffic camera fines and seasonal tires are two topics a renter learns about only after signing the agreement. Let's look at how they work in comfort-class rentals and what to check before getting behind the wheel.

How camera fines work

• Who receives the order: fines from cameras come to the vehicle owner — our company, because the car is registered to us.
• Who pays: We pass the fine on to the renter — the one who was driving at the time of the violation. The amount is specified in the rental contract.
• Payment terms: the decision comes within a few days after being recorded, and payment must be made within the statutory period to avoid a double fine.
• How to check: before returning the car, check your personal account on the Gosuslugi website or in the app — there you can see all fines issued for the car.
• Disputable cases: if someone else was driving instead of you, notify us immediately, and we will help you file a complaint.

Fine for unpaid parking in the center of the capital is 5 000 ₽, towing will cost 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage. Therefore, before leaving your car on the Garden Ring or in the Patriarch's Ponds area, check the paid parking zone: from 8:00 to 21:00 an hour costs 380–800 ₽, at night — 200 ₽.

Winter rental: tyres and specifics

From December to February, winter tires are mandatory by law (TR CU 018/2011) in Moscow and the region—our fleet is fully and in advance fitted. In summer, from June to August, studded tires are prohibited, so we change wheels on all 90 cars, including 13 comfort-class sedans, by the season. Snow and slush are common then, roads in the Moscow region are cleaned, but congestion is possible on the MSD (Moscow High-Speed Diameter) and TsKAD ring during peak hours.
