Moskvich rental in Moscow — prices and conditions
We offer Moscow Moskvich rental: Moskvich 6 liftback for 3 500 ₽ or Moskvich 3 crossover for 3 900 ₽ per day. The Rent-Trip fleet has 90 cars across eight classes.
How much does it cost to rent a Moskvich in Moscow and what is included in the price
The Moskvich rental cost starts from 3 500 ₽ per day — this price includes the car, paperwork, and delivery to any point in the capital. Rent-Trip has two Moskvich models: the Moskvich 6 liftback and the Moskvich 3 crossover, both automatic, petrol, with five seats. Below are the exact rates and terms that are valid as of today.
Rates for Moskvich 6 and Moskvich 3 — table
| Model | Class | Price per day | Week | Month | Specifications |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moskvich 6 | Comfort, liftback | 3 500 ₽ | from 21 000 ₽ | from 73 500 ₽ | 1.5 L, 136 hp, automatic, front-wheel drive |
| Moskvich 3 | Crossover | 3 900 ₽ | from 23 400 ₽ | from 81 900 ₽ | 1.5 L, 150 hp, automatic, front-wheel drive |
Week and month: how to calculate more profitably
When renting a Moskvich for a week or more, the daily rate decreases: the weekly rate is calculated as six paid days, the monthly rate as 21 days. Monthly rental of a Moskvich 3 at Rent-Trip covers both city and suburban trips: the crossover handles confidently on the MKAD ring road and suburban highways of the Moscow region. We advise calculating in advance: if you're planning a long trip, it's better to book a monthly rate right away — the exact terms of extension and return are specified in the rental agreement and should be read before signing. For a weekend trip to Tula or Kolomna, a daily rate is sufficient — no need to overpay for a long tariff.
Which Moskvich should you rent in Moscow — Moskvich 6 or Moskvich 3
Both models in our fleet – Moskvich 6 and Moskvich 3 – cost roughly the same but solve different tasks. The difference is in the body style, seating position, and character: one is made for long highways, the other for the city and trips to the Moscow region. We have broken down the parameters so you can choose a car based on your scenario, not just the price tag.
Liftback Moskvich 6: comfort on the highway
The Moskvich 6 is a Comfort-class liftback with a 1.5 L petrol engine producing 136 hp, an automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. The cabin seats five — on the M-11 Neva motorway to Saint Petersburg or along the Golden Ring, such a car is less tiring at speed. In our practice, the liftback is most often taken for 5–7 days — for a business trip to Kazan via the M-12 or a weekend in Tula with a stop at Yasnaya Polyana. City parking is not a problem for it either: its dimensions are slightly longer than a crossover's, and parking assists solve the issue on the Garden Ring. On wet asphalt in autumn, front-wheel drive with winter tires behaves predictably, and fuel consumption on the highway at 110–120 km/h stays around 6.5–7 L — almost twice as economical as the urban cycle.
Moskvich 3 crossover: for the city and the Moscow region
Moskvich 3 is a crossover with the same 1.5 L petrol engine, but boosted to 150 hp, with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The seating position is higher than in the liftback: visibility is better in dense traffic on the Third Ring Road, and the upright seating is convenient for families with children — strapping a child into a car seat in the second row is easier than bending into a low opening. In the city, the crossover is more dynamic due to the engine's output: 150 hp is enough for confident overtaking on the MKAD ring road and quick starts from traffic lights on Leninsky Prospekt. The boot is slightly smaller than the liftback's, but thanks to the vertical tailgate, it can fit a stroller or a toolbox. We recommend the Moskvich 3 if your route is the capital plus the Moscow region: Krylatskoye, Strogino, paved villages in Mitino. Operating conditions on light dirt roads are specified in the rental agreement.
Comparison of Moskvich 6 and Moskvich 3 for specific tasks
| Parameter | Moskvich 6 | Moskvich 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Body | Liftback, Comfort class | Crossover |
| Engine | 1.5 L, 136 hp | 1.5 L, 150 hp |
| Seats / gearbox | 5 seats, automatic | 5 seats, automatic |
| Drive | Front-wheel | Front-wheel |
| Price per day | 3 500 ₽ | 3 900 ₽ |
| Week | from 21 000 ₽ | from 23 400 ₽ |
| Month | from 73 500 ₽ | from 81 900 ₽ |
| Who it suits | Motorways, business trips, passengers in the back | City, family, dacha in the Moscow region |
If you're traveling together along the Golden Ring, the difference of 400 ₽ per day is not critical, and the rental terms for long distances are specified in the rental agreement. For a family with a child and trips through courtyards, a crossover is more convenient: higher seating, more powerful engine, and the extra cost is offset by comfort in daily city driving.
Documents for renting a Moskvich in Moscow — what Russian citizens and foreigners need
To rent a Moskvich 6 or Moskvich 3 in the capital, you need a minimum set of documents: a Russian passport and a category B driving licence. Foreign guests will additionally need a migration card and documents confirming their right to stay in Russia. We check the documents when delivering the car — this takes a few minutes, after which we sign the contract and hand over the keys.
Passport and category B licence — basic set
- Russian passport: The main identity document; for Russian citizens, an internal passport is sufficient.
- Category B driving licence: An open category entitles you to drive both the Moskvich 6 and the Moskvich 3 — both models have automatic transmission.
- Bank card of the main driver: Used for the insurance deposit, the exact amount of which is specified in the contract.
- Experience and age: Requirements for age and driving experience depend on the car class — specific figures are specified in the agreement.
- Validity period of the licence: Requirements for the validity period of the licence are specified in the rental agreement.
Renting a Moskvich by a foreigner: migration card and license translation
To citizens of other states we issue a Moskvich if they have a foreign passport, migration card, and visa or residence permit. A driver's license issued in a country party to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic is valid in Russia without additional formalities. If the license was obtained in a state outside this Convention — for example, in China — a notarized translation or an International Driving Permit will be required, as required by Article 25 of Federal Law No. 196-FZ.
When delivering a car to a foreign guest, we verify all documents and record their data in the contract. Requirements for the validity period of the migration card and other rental conditions for foreign citizens are clarified at booking.
Rent conditions for a Moskvich in Moscow without a driver — what is allowed and what is in the contract
Moskvich 6 and Moskvich 3 are rented without a driver in the capital and the region — you build your own route, and the terms for trips outside the city, insurance, and fines are set in the contract. We deliver the car to the required address, but beyond that, everything depends on your driving style and care.
Trips out of town: the Moscow region, the Golden Ring, Saint Petersburg
- The Moscow region: to Kolomna via the M-5 — about 2 hours; to Tula and Yasnaya Polyana via the M-2 or M-4 — about 2.5 hours.
- The Golden Ring: Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Suzdal and Vladimir — from 1 to 4 hours one way.
- Saint Petersburg: via the toll M-11 Neva motorway — about 700 km, about 7 hours en route.
- Asphalt is mandatory: Driving on dirt roads and off-road is prohibited by the contract.
- Transponder: for toll roads, you can use the device in the car or pay by license plate within the road operator's deadline.
Insurance, deposit, and fines - how it works
OSAGO covers each registered vehicle by law, so the Moskvich 6 and Moskvich 3 are insured as required. CASCO terms, the amount of the insurance deposit, and the mileage limit are specified in the rental agreement — we fix them before handing over the keys to avoid surprises.
Camera fines go to the car owner, i.e., the rental company, and then are reissued to the renter. This is standard practice for the capital: there are many cameras on the MKAD, Third Ring Road, and in the center, so before a trip it is worth checking the road operator's app. The deposit is blocked on the main driver's bank card—the amount is specified in the rental agreement. Age and driving experience affect the terms: the higher the car class, the stricter the requirements; exact figures are in the rental agreement. All deposit and mileage terms are clarified at booking, then a trip in a Moskvich will go without extra questions.
Delivery of a rented Moskvich in Moscow to airports and railway stations
We deliver a rented Moskvich wherever it's needed: across the capital, the region, and to four airports—Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky. We also meet at the city's ten railway stations. Rent-Trip has no physical office, so the car comes to the client, not the other way around.
Four airports: Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky
- Sheremetyevo: north of the capital, about 30 km from the MKAD ring road via the M-11 or Leningradskoye Shosse; convenient for Aeroflot flights and international destinations.
- Domodedovo: south, about 45 km along Kashirskoye Highway or M-4; a major hub for domestic flights.
- Vnukovo: southwest, about 28 km along the Kievskoye or Borovskoye Highway; closest to the center among airports.
- Zhukovsky: southeast, about 40 km along the Novoryazanskoye Highway; suitable for low-cost flights.
When delivering to the airport, we agree on a meeting time upon arrival and hand over the keys at the terminal. If your flight is delayed — let us know in MAX, and we will adjust the time. The reverse option also works: you leave the Moskvich in the parking lot, and we pick it up after your departure.
We meet at train stations and deliver across the city
With train stations the scheme is the same: Leningradsky, Yaroslavsky, Kazansky, Kursky, Kievsky, Belorussky, Paveletsky, and others — we deliver to the desired entrance so you do not have to drag luggage across the entire square. Around the city, we bring a Moskvich to your home, office, or hotel — for example, to Patriki, in Khamovniki, or to Moscow City. How the car is handed over and what to check upon receipt is specified in the rental agreement. In practice, this takes 10–15 minutes, after which you leave on your route — for business in the center or immediately outside the city.
Toll roads, central parking and winter tires when renting a Moskvich
When driving a Moskvich outside the Garden Ring, it is worth figuring out in advance about toll sections, parking in the center, and seasonal tires. Below are current rates and rules that apply in the capital and the region.
MSD, TsKAD ring, M-11, M-12: rates and transponder
- MSD: 9 paid sections, travel on each — 19 ₽ during peak hours (weekdays 7:00–11:00 and 16:00–20:00), free outside peak and on weekends; transit without exit — 950 ₽.
- TsKAD ring: 19 ₽ per section during peak, full circle — 171 ₽, free off-peak; transit — 950 ₽.
- M-11 Neva motorway: Toll road for the entire length Moscow – Saint Petersburg; the fare depends on the section and time of day.
- M-12 Vostok: a passenger car (class 1) for the entire route to Kazan — 5 909 ₽.
- Transponder: Gives up to 25% discount; tariffs have increased by 8–10%, check current rates with the road operator.
Parking in the center and fines from cameras
In the center, paid parking operates from 8:00 to 21:00: 380–800 ₽ per hour depending on the zone, at night — 200 ₽ per hour. The fine for non-payment is 5 000 ₽, towing will cost 8 500–12 450 ₽ plus storage at a special lot. Camera fines are sent to the car owner — the rental company — and we reissue them to the renter, so the contract includes consent to this scheme.
Winter operation: tires by law
From December to February, the technical regulation TR CU 018/2011 requires winter tires, and the entire Rent-Trip fleet will be fitted for the season. From June to August, studded tires are prohibited—cars return to summer sets for the summer. Snow and slush in December–February are common, but the terrain around the capital is flat: fields and forest, so no serious climbs on routes. If planning a long trip in a Moskvich in winter, allow extra time: clearing suburban roads after snowfall takes several hours, and travel conditions on M-11 and M-12 are confirmed at booking.
How to book a Moskvich for rent in Moscow
Booking a Moskvich 6 or Moskvich 3 at our rental takes a few minutes: you contact us via MAX or by phone, state the dates and delivery address—the rest we will arrange on the spot. We deliver the car within the capital, to the Moscow region, or to one of the four airports, and we also meet you at railway stations. We operate without a physical office, so we come to where it is convenient for you—to your home, office, or hotel in any district: from Khamovniki to Mitino, from Yakimanka to Chertanovo.
What to specify when booking
- Model: Moskvich 6 at 3 500 ₽ per day or Moskvich 3 at 3 900 ₽ — if you are in doubt, we will advise based on your trip scenario.
- Term: from one day to a month; with long-term rental, the daily rate is lower — terms are specified upon booking.
- Drop-off point: address in the capital and the region, Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo or Zhukovsky airports, any of the ten railway stations.
- Driver details: a passport and a category B licence for Russian citizens; foreigners additionally need a migration card and a translation of the licence — details in the documents section.
- Handover time: We will agree on the exact hour so you don't have to wait; the meeting procedure in case of a flight or train delay is specified when booking.
How the car handover works
At the appointed time, we deliver the Moskvich to the meeting point: you inspect the body, get in, and check the operation of the automatic transmission and climate control. The rental contract records the car's condition, insurance terms, and the security deposit amount — the bank card is issued in the primary driver's name. The procedure for contacting the rental service for the entire rental period is specified in the rental contract. After return, we accept the car where it was delivered or at another convenient point in the city.
